Meet the Instructors: Roman Maeder

Teaching Experience
Roman Maeder was a visiting assistant professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before joining the faculty of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zürich. He is now an independent consultant specializing in computer-aided mathematics. Maeder has been teaching Mathematica courses for colleges and industry since 1988.

Mathematica Experience
Maeder is one of the developers of Mathematica and the author of the book Programming in Mathematica, the standard reference for programming. Other books by Roman Maeder include The Mathematica Programmer, The Mathematica Programmer II, and Computer Science with Mathematica: Theory and Practice for Science, Mathematics, and Engineering (English and German editions). In his consulting, Maeder uses Mathematica primarily in finance. He is the author of the "M220: Programming in Mathematica," "M221: Introduction to Programming in Mathematica," and "M245: Parallel Computation" courses.
