Course Description:
M102: Project Session

Course Objective
This one-day session provides time for participants to explore selected topics in more depth and to apply Mathematica to their own areas of interest.

Course Summary
This course is designed largely as an extension of "M101: A First Course in Mathematica." Development of realistic applications is almost always an invaluable step towards retention and full utilization of the general information from the introductory course. This course provides an opportunity to pursue such applications in a classroom setting where unanticipated questions can be answered on the spot. This course can also be used for individual consulting on existing projects and for pursuing special topics chosen by the attendees.

Appropriate projects and topics for this course include beginning to intermediate uses of Mathematica as well as topics that fall generally within the scope of "M101: A First Course in Mathematica." Expertise beyond the scope of that course, such as in specialized areas of application or interaction with other software, may or may not be available. For questions about topics that are appropriate for this course, see the syllabus for "M101: A First Course in Mathematica," or contact Wolfram Education Group by sending email to education@wolfram.com.

Presenter
The course is presented by a Wolfram Education Group certified instructor.

Target Audience
The course is intended for people who are interested in additional practice with the material from "M101: A First Course in Mathematica" or who would like assistance with specific projects or questions that fall within the scope of that course.

Course Materials
Each attendee will be provided with Mathematica course notebooks and access to the current version of Mathematica. The course notebooks require Mathematica or Mathematica Player. For attendees participating in classroom-based sessions, course materials are distributed in print and on CD-ROM, and are yours to keep; a computer running Mathematica is available for your use during class. For attendees participating in online classes, a download of the course materials is provided; a temporary Mathematica training license is provided upon request.

Prerequisites
Course attendees should have completed "M101: A First Course in Mathematica," or have sufficient experience with Mathematica to have identified specific projects or questions that fall within the scope of that course.

Discounts are provided to attendees who register for "M102: A First Course in Mathematica: Project Session" in addition to "M101: A First Course in Mathematica." To sign up for the "Project Session" course, see the training calendar and registration page.
